Joachim Löw would consider recalling Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels & Thomas Müller to the national team

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sport1, the return of Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Thomas Müller to the German national team was discussed today.

The DFB (Deutscher Fußball-Bund) released a statement today stating that Joachim Löw would remain as Germany head coach for the European championship next summer.

Löw told Boateng, Hummels and Müller in March 2019 that neither of the trio would no longer be selected for the German national team but after impressive performances for their respective clubs and the downfall of the 2014 world champions, ex professionals and fans have called on Löw to consider recalling the trio.

Per Sport1, the 60-year-old would now be open to the idea of recalling the trio but only in exceptional circumstances, such as injuries.

The DFB earlier released a statement on Monday afternoon backing Löw: “A single game cannot and must not be a yardstick for the general performance of the national team and coach. Joachim Löw continues to have the trust of the DFB.”
