Speaking in an interview with Sport Bild, RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche believes that Dayot Upamecano can develop at the Bundesliga club whilst stating it wouldn’t be surprise if Europe’s elite came calling.
“Dayot is currently one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga, so it would surprise me if no clubs came knocking for him,” said Krösche. “He’s certainly an attractive player for the big clubs in Europe but he can still take a few steps forward and develop with us.”
Premier League side Arsenal have shown significant interest in signing the 21-year-old Frenchman whilst multiple reports suggest he may leave in the summer when there’s just one year remaining on his contract.
