According to Berliner Zeitung, Hertha Berlin are interested in signing 27-year-old FC Köln attacker Jhon Cordoba as a successor to Vedad Ibisevic.
The Colombian has been a hit in Köln, scoring 34 goals in his past two seasons with the Bundesliga club. Cordoba has a contract until 2021 and whilst both him and Köln could imagine an extension, bosses don’t want to lose their star player on a free transfer next summer if they fail to agree on a new deal.
Investor Lars Windhorst has made funds available for Bruno Labbadia which should see the Bundesliga club strengthen their squad this window, where perhaps other clubs can’t after feeling the financial effect following the Covid-19 pandemic.
