Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick has praised Chelsea’s signing of RB Leipzig attacker Timo Werner, if the deal goes through.
“This is Timo’s decision and you have to respect it. If what’s being reported is true then Chelsea have made a very good signing,” said Flick.
Bayern Munich had shown significant interest in signing the 24-year-old but priorities lay elsewhere with Manchester City’s Leroy Sané and a right-back.
Chelsea are expected to finalise the signing of Werner next week, the Germany international will sign a five-year deal with the Premier League club.
