Speaking to Kicker, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has not ruled out 28-year-old defender David Alaba signing a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions.
“We’re still talking with David Alaba, no doubt about that,” said Hainer. “I hope that we can still convince him because we believe that we still have many good arguments.
“I’m not giving up hope that we can still be successful in extending David’s contract because we presented him with a really competitive offer. Players and agents must also understand that only together, clubs, players and agents, we can achieve a good result.”
Per the report, the competitive offer was rejected by the Austria international, who has one-year remaining on his current Bayern Munich contract, and are awaiting an improved deal.
