Jacob Steinberg and Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian report that Chelsea are closing in on 20-year-old Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz.
The Premier League club have opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen, who at one point, remained hopeful of keeping Havertz for their Europa League campaign, which now seems unlikely.
Per the report, Chelsea have made around €80 million available to sign the Germany international, including add-ons. Given their Champions League qualification, the Blues are hopeful to push through a deal with negotiations expected to continue this week.
