Borussia Dortmund renovate Signal Iduna Park into COVID-19 treatment centre

Borussia Dortmund have announced that, in cooperation with KVWL, the Bundesliga club will renovate the North Stand of the Signal Iduna Park to serve as a treatment centre for suspected COVID-19 patients.

“Our stadium is the figurehead of the city, a fixed point for almost everyone in Dortmund and the surrounding area and thanks to its technical, infrastructural and spatial conditions, the ideal place to actively help people who are potentially infected by coronavirus,” said BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and Carsten Cramer in a joint statement.
