Bayern Munich decided against signing AS Monaco defender Benjamin Henrichs because of previous performances at the U21 European Championship, reports TZ journalist Manuel Bonke.
Hansi Flick wanted to bring the 23-year-old to Bayern Munich this January with the Bundesliga champions going head-to-head with RB Leipzig for the German’s signature.
This development now puts RB Leipzig in pole position to sign Henrichs, who is determined to leave the Ligue 1 outfit, with AS Monaco demanding a €25m transfer fee.
