Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “I’m ashamed of what happened.”

Speaking to Sky Germany after Bayern Munich’s 6-0 win at Hoffenheim, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge discussed the events that took place during the game.

“I’m ashamed of what happened and I apologized to Dietmar Hopp. We will act with all severity,” said Rummenigge.

“That was the very ugly face of FC Bayern. We had the whole thing filmed. We will be vigorous against them and they will definitely be held accountable. We’ve allowed far too much. A rethink must take place today. We have to do everything we can to combat it.”

Travelling Bayern Munich fans unveiled a banner: “Dietmar Hopp [TSG owner] remains a son of a w****,” to which Bayern staff were furious with, making it known to the Ultras to take the banner down.

Referee Christian Dingert halted play whilst the remaining 15 minutes of the game showed solidarity with both Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim players passing the ball between themselves.
