Bayer Leverkusen show interest in AS Monaco defender Benoît Badiashile

Kicker report that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing 19-year-old Monaco central-defender Benoît Badiashile.

The Bundesliga club will try to use the departure of Kevin Volland to Monaco as a way to broker a better deal for the French U19 international.

Badiashile is viewed as one of France’s top young talents and was subject to a €25 million bid from Premier League side Manchester United just a few days ago. Monaco rejected that bid but Bayer could test their resolve if they become cash-laden from the departure of Kai Havertz to Chelsea in the near future.

Badiashile has already made 47 first team appearances for Monaco and started in their Ligue 1 opener against Reims last weekend.
