Italian club AC Milan have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, according to Sky Germany.
Milan hope to sign Atalanta defender Simon Kjær but also hope to add a further centre back to their squad this January.
Arsenal have already made contact with Bayern regarding a transfer for Boateng, with the Bundesliga ready to allow the 31-year-old to leave should they receive an offer around €15 million.
A potential loan move has also been spoken about.
