Werder Bremen have joined Sassuolo in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Ömer Toprak for €4m-€5m, according to Kicker.
The Bundesliga club would be open to selling the 30-year-old with Julian Weigl – who can also occupy central defence – remaining at Borussia Dortmund.
Toprak appears to have fallen out of favour with Dortmund despite starting against Bayern Munich in the DFL Supercup on Saturday.
