Sven Ulreich misses the feeling of playing football

Bayern Munich No. 2 goalkeeper Sven Ulreich admits that he misses the feeling of playing football but insists there’s no shame in playing second fiddle to Manuel Neuer.

“When Manuel Neuer makes a save, the spectators applaud and I sometimes sit on the bench and think to myself, ‘Wow, I miss that feeling’. It’s simply something else when 70,000 people cheer for you,” Ulreich told Augsburger Allgemeine.

“But Manuel is the best goalkeeper in the world, so it’s no shame to sit on the bench here.”

The 31-year-old has played just 44 Bundesliga games since joining the Bavarian club from Stuttgart in July 2015.
