RB Salzburg head coach Marco Rose: “It’s about my personal situation, about goals, about new challenges, and about making a decision.”

Schalke and Wolfsburg are interested in appointing RB Salzburg’s Marco Rose as their new head coach, with both clubs seeking new appointments this summer.

The 42-year-old has been linked with both clubs, while many had expected Rose to go to RB Leipzig before their appointment of Julian Nagelsmann.

Rose spoke cautiously to Sky Sport Austria, which could suggesting he may be ready to move on from RB Salzburg, where he’s spent the past two years.

“I think it’s not so often in your career, that you have a lot of requests and then you have a lot of options. I know what I owe the club, and yet at some point it’s about my personal situation, about goals, about new challenges, and about making a decision,” said Rose.
