Peter Bosz condemns fans that jeered Kai Havertz

Bayer Leverkusen head coach Peter Bosz has defended Kai Havertz after the Germany international was jeered by supporters during Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Hertha BSC.

“People always talk about the Bayer family which includes the fans, the players and employees. I would never insult my family like that,” said Bosz.

“The kid came through the youth tanks here and is now spending his eleventh year at Leverkusen. He’s already given so much for the club. He should be allowed to play badly at times. I don’t understand the fans jeering him. If they want to help the team, they shouldn’t whistle a player. He doesn’t deserve that.”
