Hertha BSC ready to break transfer record for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka

Hertha BSC have identified Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka as their primary transfer target during the January window, according to Sky Germany.

The Bundesliga club would be willing to break their transfer record to sign the Switzerland international, who would cost upwards of €40 million.

Xhaka was stripped of his captaincy by Unai Emery and was urged to apologise to fans after swearing to Arsenal supporters following his substitution against Crystal Palace in November.

According to Bild, Xhaka has already informed his teammates that he will leave the Premier League club in January.
