Ottmar Hitzfeld on Bastian Schweinsteiger: “I think he can become a very good teacher & coach.”

Former Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Switzerland manager Ottmar Hitzfeld believes that 2014 World Cup champion Bastian Schweinsteiger should consider coaching following his retirement.

“I think he can become a very good teacher and coach. As a player, Bastian was world class. He always had a great deal of tactical understanding and was always very eager to talk. I think it would be nice if he was involved at Bayern,” Hitzfeld told SportBild.

Schweinsteiger announced his retirement earlier in the month, bringing his illustrious career to an end which includes eight Bundesliga titles, seven DFB Pokals, one Champions League and one Europa League, one FA Cup and the World Cup amongst others.
