Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
The 27-year-old joins the club on a one-year loan deal for €8.5 million while they have the option to purchase Coutinho permanently for €120m. Bayern will pay the Brazilian’s wages in full.
“It’s of course a big honor when a great traditional club like Bayern shows interest in you. I can’t wait to wear the shirt and get on the pitch. I’m not a guy who wants to speak about himself, but I play in midfield and try to create chances for my teammates. I like of course to work defensively as well,” said Coutinho.
“I wasn’t yet able to look around the city, but the people I’ve met so far were so polite and respectful. I’ve also checked on the training facilities and I have to say that I’m impressed and happy to be here.”
