Karl-Heinz Rummenigge denies claims Niko Kovač will be sacked

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has rubbished claims that the Bundesliga club will dismiss Niko Kovač regardless of whether he wins the double.

“This decision hasn’t been made. The report is a total hoax,” Rummenigge told Bild.

The original report by Spox claimed that the club would look at PSV head coach Mark van Bommel to succeed Kovač.

Reports tonight by Bild & SportBild also state that no decision has been made on the future of Kovač however, the Croat and Bayern could part ways even if he does win the double. This is largely due to the players that have criticised him internally for their inadequate attacking philosophy.
