Concrete talks take place between Borussia Dortmund & Bayern Munich for the transfer of Mats Hummels

Borussia Dortmund are open to the idea of re-signing Germany defender Mats Hummels from Bayern Munich, according to Bild.

Preliminary talks have already taken place between both Bundesliga clubs while Bayern Munich bosses informed head coach Niko Kovač that they would be willing to allow the 30-year-old to depart the club.

It’s understood that Bayern would be willing to do a deal should the fee be between €15m & €20m plus future incentives.

Kicker have also picked up on this story and state that BVB had been interested in Hummels previously but a deal wasn’t realistic, which how now changed after Bayern gave Hummels permission to leave.

Further to this, Sky Germany reporter Torben Hoffmann has noted that negotiations between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich for the transfer of Mats Hummels are in the advanced stages while Bayern should expect to receive a fee closer to €30m.

Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk also notes that Bayern Munich are not planning to sign a replacement for Hummels, which rules out a move for Ajax defender Matthias de Ligt following the arrivals of Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez.
