Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed on Saturday night that Julian Weigl will remain at the club this window despite heavy interest from Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking to broadcaster ZDF, Zorc said: “Julian Weigl will stay in Dortmund. He has already played very well against Gladbach [as centre-back] before the winter break and once again showed a brilliant performance tonight, especially when keeping in mind that he usually plays in midfield.”
PSG remain in active discussions to sign the Germany international but Borussia Dortmund’s stance remains the same, Weigl will not be leaving the Bundesliga leaders just yet.
