Bayern Munich will not exercise €42m purchase option for James Rodriguez

Bayern Munich will not exercise their €42 million purchase clause in James Rodriguez’s contract, according to Kicker.

The Real Madrid midfielder has spent the past two seasons on loan at the Bundesliga club, who have the option to purchase Rodriguez for €42m should they wish to do so.

Bayern Munich’s hierarchy were torn on whether to conclude the purchase but it now appears that Napoli are leading the chase to sign the 27-year-old playmaker, who would link up with former Bayern coach, Carlo Ancelotti.
