FC Dallas defender Chris Richards has completed a $1.5 million deal to Bayern Munich, according to Goal journalist Ives Galarcep.
The report also states that the deal could rise to $2m with FC Dallas also having a 40 percent sell-on fee which will make sure the MLS side will receive a healthy cash injection should Bayern sell Richards.
The 18-year-old has been impressing on loan with Bayern’s Under-19 side with strong performances as well as featuring in the International Champions Cup, getting minutes against Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain in pre-season.
Richards expressed his shock when Bayern took him on loan and in November he revealed (via Goal): “When they told me there was an option to buy I was like, ‘Wow, I hope I can play well enough for them to even consider buying me. Now it’s becoming a reality that they have a good chance of being able to buy me.”
