Arsène Wenger to Bayern Munich – the latest

Bayern Munich have contacted Arsène Wenger over the vacant managerial role at the Bundesliga club with the Frenchman showing a genuine interest, according to Kicker.

Both parties are currently talking to each other whilst further talks are expected to take place once Wenger leaves Doha on Friday after working as a pundit on BeIN Sports.

ESPN also reported on Wednesday evening that the 70-year-old is expected to meet Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge later this week to discuss the vacant role.

However, Bayern correspondent for Sport1, Florian Plettenberg, has stated that Wenger will not be appointed as manager and the club will instead put faith in interim coach Hansi Flick for the time being.
