Official | Hamburg sack Markus Gisdol

Hamburger SV and Markus Gisdol have parted ways following their 2-0 defeat against 1. FC Köln.

The ever-present Bundesliga club find themselves sitting in 16th place, with their last two wins coming in November. It’s an all too familiar sight for Hamburg fans who will be hoping for a change in fortunes.

HSV chairman Heribert Bruchhagen said: “It wasn’t an easy decision to make. But we are convinced that there was no alternative at this point in time. We will unveil our new coach soon. We need to formalise a few things first – we know already who the new coach will be.”
