Freiburg’s Florian Niederlechner sidelined for five weeks

Freiburg forward, Florian Niederlechner, has been sidelined for at least five weeks after suffering an injury to his left ankle.The incident occurred during the goalless draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the weekend.

In the 38th minute, Niederlechner took a blow when opposition striker Lucas Alario challenged for the ball and hit the German’s left foot. He was then replaced by Janik Haberer.

The striker crisis continues to deepen for Christian Streich’s men. Star forward Nils Petersen is nursing a shoulder injury, while Tim Kleindienst is sidelined with back issues.
