Shinji Okazaki could return to the Bundesliga with Schalke 04 interested, according to Sport1, where the Japan international will once again work with sporting director Christian Heidel.
The 30-year-old has scored 37 career Bundesliga goals, whilst Okazaki would join on a six-month loan deal, having fallen down the pecking order at Leicester City.
Schalke have of course recently completed the signing of Guido Burgstaller, but with the ageing Klaas-Jan Huntelaar – who has been linked with a return to Ajax – and the injured Breel Embolo, the Royal Blues are still a little short going forward, and so a move for Okazaki would make sense.
