Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he has left Borussia Dortmund with immediate effect, just days after winning the DFB Pokal.
At 12:37CET, Bird reported that he had been dismissed. 10 minutes later he said goodbye on his newly established Twitter account.
Tuchel’s dismissal doesn’t come as a surprise given recent reports, suggesting he’s become alienated with the club after deteriorating relationship between Hans-Joachim Watzke and himself.
Whilst Lucien Favre remains a clear favourite to take over, there’s a slight possibility the former Borussia Mönchengladbach coach could remain at OGC Nice.
Peter Stöger of 1. FC Köln and Paulo Sousa of Fiorentina have also been linked in German press for the now vacant position.
