Miralem Pjanic has revealed he almost joined Bayern Munich as a 17-year-old from FC Metz and again in 2016 when he left AS Roma for Juventus.
“Uli Hoeneß invited me to his house,” Pjanic told SportBild. “I had only just turned 17. But back then Bayern was too big a club for me.”
Pjanic instead joined Olympique Lyonnais before moving on to Roma in 2011. Last summer saw the Bosnia and Herzegovina international join Italian giants Juventus for €32 million, telling SportBild: “Juve were simply quickest.”
