Kai Havertz signs Bayer Leverkusen extension until 2022

Bayer Leverkusen have extended the contract of Kai Havertz until 2022 following an exceptional breakthrough season.

The 18-year-old made his Bundesliga and Champions League debut at the age of 17, whilst the Leverkusen midfielder has gone on to player 28 games in all competitions, scoring four and assisting six.

“I have worked for this moment in the past year,” Havertz told the club’s official website.

“It fills me with great satisfaction and pride. I’m happy to finally be set after the last season in which I also had to finish school. Now I have my school leaving exam in my pocket and a professional contract with Leverkusen, it’s a great feeling.”
