Holger Badstuber extends Bayern Munich contract

As we earlier reported, Carlo Ancelotti had wanted to extend Holger Badstuber’s contract at Bayern Munich. Now a loan move to Schalke has been completed, subject to a medical, Bayern Munich have also extended his contract until 2018, confirmed by Sky Deutschland’s Torben Hoffmann.

The 27-year-old has played 31 times for the German national team, whilst he joined Bayern Munich at a young age, progressing through their youth academy before signing a professional contract in 2009.

Badtuber will play for Schalke for the remainder of the season as he looks to regain his fitness.
