1. FC Köln no longer in talks with Horst Heldt

1. FC Köln released a statement on Thursday afternoon stating they had ended talks win Hannover 96 sporting director Horst Heldt, after Jörg Schmadtke vacated the role in October.

“After Horst Heldt signaled that he would be interested in a transfer to Cologne, we sat down to speak with him regarding the possibility of working together. The next steps of our discussions relied heavily on whether Horst Heldt could dissolve his contract at Hannover 96, which was set to run until 2020. The solution was could not be found. Out of respect for Hannover 96, we have decided to no longer pursue this matter in order to maintain a good relationship between the two clubs,” Spinner told the club’s website.

“Horst Held was one of the candidates we talked to about succeeding Jörg Schmadtke, but he is not the only candidate. We only decided to confirm the interest from both sides because the information was brought to the public. We will now continue to hold talks with other candidates and we remain confident that we will find the optimal candidate for FC.”
