Stefan Kießling considers early retirement due to injury

Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kießling would consider retiring if his chronic injury woes persist, he has revealed to Zeit Online.

Asked if retirement is something he would think about if his hip problem lingers, Kießling responded: “It may well be. If the pain is too great and I realise I need to expose them too often, I probably have to be honest with myself and say ‘it does not make sense’. If this is the end, it’s not the one you’d wish for as a professional. But at the moment I don’t think it is [the end].”
