Serge Gnabry to Werder Bremen, via Bayern Munich?

Bayern Munich look set to complete the signing of Arsenal’s young German midfielder Serge Gnabry, with the story originating from SWR.

Multiple sources in Germany are reporting the deal as already complete, including the players father, Jean-Hermann Gnabry, who has been speaking to German news outlet SWR: “I would have liked it if Serge would have prevailed here at Arsenal, he still has a contract until 2017. But his mind is already thinking about elsewhere. Bayern is like Arsenal. Even there he’ll have extremely strong competition.”.

His father was then asked to confirm the report: “Yes, its like that.” Kicker are also reporting that it’s only a matter of time” before the clubs confirm the deal.

The fee is expected to be around £7 million, and is expected that Gnabry will then be loaned out to German top flight side Werder Bremen, who Bayern beat 6-0 on the opening fixture of the Bundesliga.

However, Bremen’s sporting director Frank Baumann told Bild that Bayern are irrelevant to the deal, whilst the club want to buy the forward from Arsenal, rather than loaning Gnabry from Bayern.
