Roger Schmidt given two match ban

Following a verbal altercation with Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann at the weekend, Bayer Leverkusen’s Roger Schmidt has been handed a two-game ban by the DFB (German football association).

In addition to the ban, Schmidt has also received a €15,000 fine for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The Leverkusen coach will miss the DFB-Pokal tie against Sportfreunde Lotte and the Bundesliga match against VfL Wolfsburg.

This isn’t the first time Schmidt has been banned. After refusing to follow referee’s orders and leave his technical area during a match against Borussia Dortmund in February, Schmidt was handed a three-match ban and a €20,000.
