Today Mats Hummels trained with Bayern Munich for the first time after his €38 million move from Borussia Dortmund after almost nine years away from his boyhood club.
Greeted on his return to Säbener Strasse, a downpour of rain probably isn’t what he had hoped for, but he was still in high spirits.
“It was very nice, I have seen many physiotherapists, and quite a lot of people who have not only said hello, but after nine years it’s welcoming. These are simply beautiful moments. After four weeks with bright sunshine, we experienced bad weather, but it’s better to train this way,” said Hummels.
