Julian Draxler’s proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain – the situation

As we enter the final few days of the transfer window, one of the biggest deals of the summer could well be yet to come.

Both Bild and Kicker have suggested that Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler could be subject of a €75m bid from Paris Saint-Germain. Bild go as far as to say that the player’s agent, Roger Wittman, is attempting to thrash out a deal at this moment.

With Wolfsburg moving for Tottenham’s Heung Min-Son, according to Bild, there would certainly be scope for a move to take place if the figures are right.

This report comes contrary to what both parties have said, however. Patrick Kluivert, director of football for PSG, was asked on Radio Montecarlo about buying new players following the 3-1 loss to Monaco and simply replied: “No.”

On the other end, Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has been firm in his stance on Draxler, as well as Ricardo Rodriguez and Luiz Gustavo, having been quoted in Bild saying: “All three will remain [at Wolfsburg.]”

With the transfer window closing on Wednesday, PSG do not have long to complete this deal but Draxler has, of course, stated his desire to leave earlier this summer so nothing can be ruled out at this point.
