Jos Luhukay resigns as Stuttgart manager

Jos Luhukay has resigned as manager of 2. Bundesliga side VFB Stuttgart after internal quarrels with the club’s hierarchy.

Sky Germany have stated that the 53-year-old was due to hold a press conference at 13:00 CET today, but now that is no longer the case.

According to Sportschau, he has resigned following quarrels with the current CEO Jan Schindelmeiser.

“This is no picnic for me,” the Dutchman told BILD after officially resigning. The basis of his working philosophy is “a uniform group of sportingly responsible people,” which “is no longer the case at VFB any more.”

Stuttgart have had mixed results in the second division after their relegation from the Bundesliga last season, with two victories and two defeats in their opening four games.
