Gianluca Zambrotta: Marc-Andre ter Stegen can emulate Victor Valdes at Barcelona

German international Marc-Andre ter Stegen has all the right attributes to emulate legendary goalkeeper Victor Valdes at FC Barcelona says football pundit and ex-Barcelona full-back Gianluca Zambrotta.

Ter Stegen joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2014 and featured in every match of Barca’s 2014-15 UEFA Champions league campaign as they lifted the trophy beating Juventus in the final.

The 24 year old has also become Barcelona’s first choice goalkeeper in the league after Claudio Bravo’s departure to Manchester City earlier in the summer and Zambrotta thinks that Ter Stegen can achieve great things with Barcelona like Victor Valdes.

“You can’t discuss a goalkeeper like Victor Valdes. He made history for Barcelona and was phenomenal in Spain,” Zambrotta told Omnisport.

“For sure even Ter Stegen can make history as Barcelona are doing great things. He can become the new Valdes.” He concluded.

Ter-Stegen has a contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2019.
