His goal against 1. FC Nürnberg may have saved Eintracht Frankfurt from relegation only a few months ago, but it appears that Haris Serefovic has become surplus to requirements. The striker has lost his place and a late transfer looks to be on the cards for him, SpoX.com reports.
According to the Swiss media, interest in the striker has been shown from Italy and Spain, but Eintracht have said that no firm offers have been received to this point. The reason given is that Serefovic has not yet decided whether or not to leave or stay and fight for his place.
Eintracht’s next two games – a cup game against Magdeburg and their Bundesliga opener against Schalke – could serve as a yardstick in this regard. If Serefovic remains on the bench, as he did during preseason, then a late transfer would look increasingly likely. For this to happen, Eintracht would be looking for an appropriate fee – Sport Bild has reported that they are looking in the region of €7 million.
