In an in-depth interview with Sport Bild, Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had his say on transfers, contracts and the mega-money market.
“The development is actually incredible and hard to stop. Football is the world’s number one sport, and these sums are being paid simply. I have no idea what I’m worth, maybe you will see it sometime. I’m afraid that I could then also be approximately in the direction of [Gonzalo] Higuaín’s fee.”
“The business is moving faster and faster, it comes to more and more money. Nevertheless, contracts should, of course, be basically satisfied. But in football, it is sometimes like a marriage unfortunately, since it also includes a pact for life and there are still many divorces. Anyway, I can assure you: in 2016/2017, I will be in Dortmund.”
