Ancelotti: Kimmich will start in Champions League opener

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that starlet Joshua Kimmich will start in his side’s first Champions League game against FC Rostov on Tuesday evening.

The Italian also confirmed that Kingsley Coman is on the mend, while he spoke of his love for the Champions League itself.

“The Champions League is always a special competition for me. It starts tomorrow, and we’ll do our best! [Kingsley Coman] won’t be on the bench, but we’re preparing him for Saturday. [FC Rostov] are defensively strong, they sometimes play with five at the back. They will be tough to break down.”

When asked if Kimmich will start, Ancelotti smiled: “Yes.”
