Willi Orbán (33) played all but one Bundesliga game in 2025/26 as RB Leipzig secured third, and a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League. Their leader, however, sits on an expiring contract and while an extension beyond 2027 isn’t on the club’s agenda, it doesn’t appear as though Orbán intends on leaving this summer.
“I’m definitely under contract for another year and can’t just go to Marcel Schäfer and say I’m leaving,” Orbán, currently with Leipzig in South Africa, told Bild. “We had a good season as a team. I played a part in that. It was important to me to perform. Up until now, the club has always appreciated that, and they will continue to do so.”
When asked whether an extension beyond 2027 is on the cards, the Hungarian replied: “I don’t see a great need to leave quickly, but all sides have to be satisfied.”
