Official | Konrad Laimer extends Bayern Munich contract until 2029

FC Bayern Munich have officially confirmed a two-year-contract-extension for Konrad Laimer. Negotiations over the Austrian international’s new deal dragged on for quite some time due to excessive salary demands from the 29-year-old.As is commonly the case with the German record champions, FCB Honorary President Uli Hoeneß recently weighed in on the matter; suggesting that Laimer was making “Maradona-like demands” in an interview with DAZN.

At this juncture, it remains unclear as to whether Laimer’s salary demands were met. The fact that the deal was rumored to be sealed over a month ago suggests that both sides have long since found a middle ground. Laimer’s versatility, not to mention his production numbers (three goals and 13 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions last year) nevertheless also suggests that the World Cup participant received a healthy pay raise.

Sky Germany cites an annual salary of around €10m per year including bonuses.
