Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane matched the all-time England caps record, matching Peter Shilton’s 125 appearances for the Three Lions, after starting, and scoring, against Czech Republic in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday.
Netting his 91st goal for England, Kane has scored six goals in his last four appearances at international level, earning esteemed praise from teammate Jude Bellingham.
“First and foremost he is an unbelievable human being,” Bellingham told ITV. “As a captain, as a man, he looks after every single person. He’s the one to take responsibility off the pitch. And on the pitch he’s the best England player to have worn the shirt.
“It’s an honour to play with him. He’s playing at a level that is unmatched. He’s scoring goals for fun, he’s dropping deep and playing passes in behind and contributing, making tackles and everything. He’s only getting better.”
Speaking in the mixed zone after England’s, Bellingham told Hayters TV: “Nothing he ever does surprises me,” he enthused.
“Such an amazing role model, amazing guy and an honour to share the pitch with him. Everything he gets, he deserves. He works so hard for it.”
