The Sky Germany Transfer Update Show reports that Ermedin Demirovic’s future at VfB Stuttgart has become the subject of internal debate amid interest from Juventus, Fenerbahçe and Leeds United. Evidently, head coach Sebastian Hoeneß is open to selling the 28-year-old. Stuttgart’s administrative team nevertheless retain a different view.
Stuttgart are presently planning with a three-striker rotation featuring Demirovic, Deniz Undav and Wolfsburg talent Dzenan Pejcinovic. The latter has already agreed personal terms, though the clubs have yet to finalize a transfer. Jeremy Arevalo would serve as a developmental option, while Jovan Milosevic remains free to leave.
Demirovic has already attracted Premier League interest once during his Stuttgart tenure. As noted in a previous Get German Football News report on Leeds’ pursuit, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international scored 17 goals across all competitions during his first season after arriving from Augsburg for approximately €23m. He also recorded his first Bundesliga hat trick in a 4-0 victory over Bochum.
Ermedin Demirovic’s current status at Stuttgart
The striker entered last season as a potential third-choice option behind Undav and Nick Woltemade. Woltemade’s Newcastle transfer and an injury to Undav nevertheless elevated Demirovic into the lead role. He responded with three goals and two assists across six consecutive Bundesliga starts before suffering a serious foot injury.
Demirovic returned in January and scored in his comeback victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. He ultimately registered 12 league goals and three assists during the 2025/26 campaign, reaffirming his value despite the lengthy absence.
Stuttgart therefore face no immediate need to sell. A substantial offer could still tempt Hoeneß and the club, but Demirovic’s wishes and the board’s confidence in him render a departure far from inevitable.
