Brighton reach agreement to sign Tottenham’s Luka Vušković

Luka Vušković (19) starred on loan for Bundesliga returnees Hamburg last season, and now the Croatian central defender, currently on international duty at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is set to swap Tottenham Hotspur for Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton have reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign Vušković for a deal worth up to £50m, according to a report from David Ornstein, with the south coast club paying Spurs, who will retain a 20 percent sell-on clause, an initial £46m.

The Seagulls’ latest offer comes after seeing their opening £30m bid rejected by Spurs, who signed Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke for £52m last week.

Vušković, who broke the Bundesliga record for aerial duels won in a single match with 18 away to Union Berlin, made 30 appearances across all competitions for HSV in 2025/26, was named in Get German Football News’ Team of the Season, and was named our Young Player of the Season.
