Sebastien Haller could miss the rest of the season with a foot injury

After being substituted within the first 10 minutes of Borussia Dortmund’s game against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Sebastien Haller could miss the rest of the season, reports Sky Germany

The severity of the injury is currently unknown but Haller will certainly miss the second leg against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday after he gave Dortmund a life line in the first leg with his late goal. However, it cannot be ruled out that the Ivorian could miss the remainder of the season.

This was Haller’s first start for Dortmund since September and likely the last of the season.

In his first full season at Dortmund, Haller has struggled with injuries and form. His lack of form has meant he has had to play behind Niclas Füllkrug, whilst his injuries have meant he has not been able to string together a run of games to build up form.

However, on the international stage, Haller played a key role in Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph in the new year scoring in the semi-finals and final.
