No team has beat Arsenal more than Bayern Munich in the Champions League knockout stages

Bayern Munich have drawn Arsenal for the fifth time in the Champions League knockout stages and per Opta, the Bundesliga side have progressed on each of the previous four occasions which is more often than against any other club.

What’s more, all of Bayern Munich’s previous meetings against Arsenal also came at the quarter-final stage, most recently in the 2016/17 season when the Rekordmeister won 10-2 on aggregate.

In their last competitive meeting, Bayern had players such as David Alaba, Xabi Alonso, Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry and Robert Lewandowski in their starting lineup.

This time around though, Arsenal’s side has improved vastly with Mikel Arteta’s side currently sitting top of the Premier League. Meanwhile, Bayern are struggling with Thomas Tuchel’s side currently 10 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, but they have in-form Harry Kane who is on course to beat Robert Lewandowski’s goal record in the Bundesliga.
