Leroy Sané “disappointed” after substitution against Arsenal

Leroy Sané has admitted that he was “disappointed” after being substituted against Arsenal.

BILD gave Sané a rating of one for his performance against Mikel Arteta’s side. For context, German outlets use the same grading (1-6) as schools in Germany. One being the best, six the worst. The 28-year-old’s performance against Arsenal was arguably his best of the season, proving troublesome for Jakub Kiwior, who was substituted at the break.

Speaking to beIN Sports (h/t: imiasanmia), Sané said: “I was a bit disappointed, but as I said we have another game at home, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be tough, nothing is decided. It’ll be an open game and we’ll see what happens.”

Bayern Munich will be without Serge Gnabry for the return fixture

With the Champions League in the balance with the scores level at 2-2, it’s still all to play for in the second-leg at the Allianz Arena. There was question marks as to whether Thomas Tuchel will still be in charge, but because there’s still a chance of Bayern advancing, an early departure is now out of the question.

However, the Rekordmeister will be without Serge Gnabry and Alphonso Davies for the second-leg. Bayern confirmed on Wednesday that Gnabry suffered a hamstring injury and will be sidelined for the foreseeable, while Davies picked up a yellow card, accumulating enough yellows in this season’s competition to see him earn a one-game suspension.
